We are proud to announce that Interplast is the official charity partner of the 2016 Ironman Australia event in Port Macquarie on May 1.

Our passionate Ambassador, Turia Pitt, will be competing in the event for Interplast and putting her fitness to the test over the 3.8km swim, 180km ride and 42.2km run course all whilst raising money and awareness for Interplast.

Turia has always had her sights set on completing in an Ironman and this day has been 5 years in the making; “When I was in the hospital I was told that I’d never run again. It was like a light was switched on in my head. I thought I’ll show you, I’m going to do an Ironman one day”.

“It was the best motivation. My mum and my partner, Michael, would come into my hospital room each morning and say ‘come on, get up, it’s time to get training for your Ironman’ and I’d get up and get stuck in.”

The IRONMAN series of events is the largest participation sports platform in the world. Since the events inception in 1978, athletes have been crossing finish lines at the world’s most challenging endurance races.
