Volunteer assessing patient

Rotarians were there in the beginning.

They’ve been a constant throughout the decades and they’re very much a part of Interplast’s bright future.

Integrally involved in the establishment of Interplast in 1983 with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, Interplast is supported by Rotarians in clubs and districts throughout Australia and New Zealand. A central thread throughout the organisation, Rotarians are equal members of the Company, have equal representation on the Board of Directors and form the Rotarian Committee, which advises the Executive and Board on Rotary matters.

Since 1983, Rotarians have raised significant funds to support Interplast in repairing bodies and rebuilding lives. Over 85 Rotarians have accompanied teams as observers and have returned to act as ambassadors of Interplast by spreading our word, voicing their experiences and sharing our secret.

Interplast Guest Speakers

Interplast representatives have an incredible story to tell. Having been on an Interplast surgical or development activity as a surgeon, anaesthetist, nurse or Rotarian observer, they can speak from first-hand experience of the life-changing work carried out by Interplast volunteers. If you would like an Interplast representative to speak at your Rotary club or event, please contact your Interplast District Chair, by clicking on the link below.

Alternatively, Interplast’s Rotarian Engagement Coordinator, Janette Etherington, is your first point of contact in the Interplast office for all Rotary matters. Contact Interplast to find out more about fundraising opportunities, guest speakers for your club, or to connect you with other Rotary Clubs and Districts who are supporting Interplast.
